1. 1. Turn off the system and locate the filter slot on the return or air handler.
2. 2. Slide out the old filter and read the size printed on its frame.
3. 3. Buy a replacement of the same size with a matching or higher MERV rating.
4. 4. Insert the new filter with the airflow arrow pointing toward the unit.
5. 5. Write the install date on the frame or set a reminder for the next swap.
6. 6. Close the access panel and turn the system back on.
